BEWARE OF ESTIMATES.....expect DOUBLE on the invoice. I recently had a tree fall on my power line and damaged the connection on my house. Deckert sent a crew out and I asked for an estimate to fix it. I was quoted $500, which seemed reasonable so I agreed to the work. They fixed the damage and said they would send me an invoice. When I received the invoice it was $1000!! I called and spoke to Brad and voiced my frustrations. Brad said his worker was "shooting from the hip" with his estimate. I told him adding an additional 100% to the estimate was unacceptable. He responded by saying $500 wasn't that much to be off! Well Brad, $500 may not be much for you but it's a lot for me, especially when I'm not expecting it. Also, if $500 isn't a lot of money, why wouldn't you honor your estimate? I know we didn't have a written contract, but it used to be that someone's word and a handshake meant something. I was at the house the entire time and not once did anyone say it would be more than what I was quoted. I also very dissatisfied with Brads unwillingness to work with me to bring the invoice amount down. I thought it was fair to offer $650, but Brad wouldn't come down at all. Very poor customer service in my opinion!
Everyone at Deckert Electric that I interacted with was professional, timely, and responsive. Their estimate was a little higher than a quote I got from another company, but I felt the quality of the work and their professionalism was worth it. Work was done on time and right in line with the estimate.
